    OUR MEDICAL MISSIONS TO NIGERIA

EnuguUSA Medical Mission
The Enugu USA Medical Mission is a humanitarian year round mission to provide FREE medical care to the people of Enugu State who are underserved and less privileged. It is in response to health crisis (malaria, arthritis, diabetes, infections, ulcers, high blood pressure, wounds, health education, etc) that Enugu USA Medical Mission was created as a 501C3 non profit organization to contribute to solutions that solve health issues affecting Enugu people.

EnuguUSA Medical Mission 2008

Enugu Association USA, (EnuguUSA) Inc., a not-for profit Umbrella Association of Enugu State (Nigeria) people in the United States of America, embarks on this year’s annual EnuguUSA Medical Mission project in Communities of Enugu State, starting this Monday, December 15, 2008.

The yearly Medical Mission Project now in its 7th year of operation, is organized through EnuguUSA’s subsidiary Organization, the EnuguUSA Medical Mission, Inc., to benefit majority less privileged individuals in mostly rural communities of Enugu State of Nigeria.

The Mission’s Executive Director, Hon. Adolphus Emeka Aganigbo, heads this year’s mission. Hon. Aganigbo is already in Enugu, with a team of US-based Medical practitioners and para-professionals, on hand to facilitate the smooth operation of the mission. Also on hand to lead the expatriate and Nigeria-based physicians in this year’s Mission is the Mission’s Medical Director, US-based physician, Hon. Martins-Ugwu Dike, M.D. Hon. Dr. Ugwudike has been a very staunch supporter and financier of the yearly Medical Mission. His involvement and influence in this year’s mission is highly appreciated.

The 2008 Medical Mission scheduled to serve patients in 16 Communities of Enugu State, will kick off at the premises of the Parklane’s Hospital, Enugu, Monday morning, with routine briefings from leaders of the Mission, which includes the National President of EnuguUSA, Inc., Hon. Professor Godfrey Uzochukwu.

Other EnuguUSA veterans of the Mission, expected to be on hand to ensure a smooth take off of this year’s project include the following: the immediate past Chairman of EnuguUSA Board of Directors, Hon. Chief Bernard Ugwu, immediate past National President, Hon. Mrs. Oby Clara Ebulu, former Medical Mission Executive Director, Hon. Ethelbert Odo, the Doyen and Pharmacist of the Medical Mission, Hon. Solomon Maduko, EnuguUSA Asst. Treasurer and Mission veteran, Hon. Engr. Levi Onyia; other EnuguUSA Board Members – Hon. Atty. Nick Agbo, Hon. Engr. Chibuzor Nweke, Hon. Leonard Ugwu, among numerous other US-based volunteer-participants.

Prominent Enugu State functionaries also expected at the Commencement venue are: the EnuguUSA President Emeritus and Special Adviser to Enugu State Governor on Diaspora Matters and Special Projects, Dr. Jude A. Akubuilo; former EnuguUSA President/initiator of the Medical Mission and Special Adviser to Governor Chime on the Development of Enugu State Capital, Hon. Chief John Egbo; the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike; former EnuguUSA Legal Adviser and current Senior Assistant to Governor Chime on Diaspora Matters and Special Projects, Hon. Atty. Dominic Ezeudu, as well as former EnuguUSA Chief Protocol Officer and presently the Executive Secretary of Enugu Rangers International Football Club, Ozo Paul Chibuzor (Sayama), among others.

EnuguUSA designated 16 towns to be visited this year, with an anticipated patient volume of about 6,500 people.

Enugu Association USA (EnuguUSA) Inc., wishes to thank His Excellency, Governor Sullivan Ihenacho Chime for his continuing and demonstrable support of EnuguUSA and the EnuguUSA Medical Mission. EnuguUSA also appreciates the commitment and personal attention this administration is receiving from the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike and his Ministry, as well as from all the other EnuguUSA Ambassadors currently serving in the State Administration. We look forward to another year of hugely successful mission project, made possible by a cordial working relationship between the Enugu State Government and Enugu Association USA (EnuguUSA), Inc.
